This movie relates to what we’ve examined so far this semester because of its themes and locale. The movie takes place in the orient, a location and idea that we’ve heavily focused on. In addition, the plot is very similar to that of Aladdin, the other movie we watched. It seems that Aladdin was very much inspired by The Thief of baghdad.
Dream-like, mystical, very othering
Wizard of Oz: very similar
